Listen to Mp3 Music on Your R4 DS Card and Nintendo DS

Many Nintendo DS owners don't realize that their favorite little hand held system can do a whole lot more than just play video games. Don't get me wrong, the games for the Nintendo DS are absolutely fantastic. I love all the Mario games, and even more so, all of the brain teaser / brain training games. But like any tech and gadget geek, the number of gadgets I carry around with me has increased 200 - 300% since the early nineties. I have my cell phone, my MP3 player (yes, I know, the iphone can play MP3, etc... but I am just not a huge iPhone fan), as well as my Nintendo DS system.

I love being able to play a quick round of my favorite game of the day while I sit on the subway to work. Nothing makes the time go by faster than hunkering down and beating the next boss in Final Fantasy. I usually have my MP3 player on as well, listening to my favorite collection while I kick some serious butt in whatever game I am playing. Okay, I have ot be honest, I am not always winning in the games, but I do try my darned hardest (isn't that supposed to be enough?).

That was me, about 2 months ago. Until I found out about the R4 DS Card for the Nintendo DS. Now I'm not just playing games, but listening to music, and even watching a movie when I feel like it. And it's not because I've added another gadget to my backpack, fact, quite the opposite. Because of the R4 DS Card I have been able to remove a could of gadgets from my backpack.

The R4 DS Card is a unique little accessory that allows me not only to store and load my games from a microSD card that I put into the R4 DS, but it also lets me load it up with my current playlist in MP3 format, as well as my TV shows or movies that I haven't had time to catch up on in the last few months.

So just what is this R4 DS card? Simply put, it's a cartridge that you put into your Nintendo DS console. It looks, feels and acts just like a regular Nintendo DS card. Unlike a regular Nintendo DS Game card however, it has the ability and allows me to use microSD cards - available from any electronics store, Wal-Mart, BestBuy, etc... to store my games, movies, music and eBooks too. I can then load up, listen to or watch whichever movie or song I want to watch or listen to.

I've even converted full DVD movies with included software and caught my favorite episode of Dexter on my Nintendo DS. And when I say full movies, I don;t mean choppy or slow playing versions of my movies. They play at full speed, at the right resolution, and are fully watchable (and enjoyable) on my Nintendo DS console.

The R4 DS Card is often called a memory card adapted. Because it allows you to use microSD Cards in order to store and load your games, movies or music from any ordinary microSD Card. But I call it a media player. Simply because it not only allows me to store countless games on the microSD card, but also allows me to take all of my movies, music and games with me, no matter where I am. Not to mention that it does away with me having to carry 2-3 different gadgets to accomplish the same task.

By dragging and dropping the files I want to use to the microSD card, and putting it into the R4 DS Card, I am able to make my Nintendo DS do things I didn't even think were possible.
