New UK Auction Website Offers Nintendo Wiis From 10p
London, UK (PRWEB) February 7, 2008 -- Nintendo Wiis from 10p? iPods for only a tenner? Ladies' Dolce & Gabbana watches for £21.56? No, this isn't a 'wind-up', this is TeleBid, Europe's most exciting online auction site.
Telebid (www.TeleBid.com) is the thrilling auction website taking the UK by storm. Day in, day out, bargains are bagged by the dozen. If it's hot to trot, you'll find it on TeleBid; with everything from Nintendo Wiis, iPhones, to the latest SONY Plasma TVs, even down to jewellery and watches with winners saving on average 71% off the RRP.
All products are brand new, here's a taster of some of the outrageous deals (http://www.telebid.com/brw/ended-auctions_0.html?ast=3) auctioned on TeleBid in the last 24 hours:
? Sony Play Station 3 for - £6.30 (RRP £319.99)
? Nintendo Wii with Wii Sports - £19.39 (RRP £249.99)
? LG 37" LCD TV - £113.82 (RRP £849.99)
? Krug Baumen Diamond Ladies watch - £7.56 (RRP £765)
"Since launching in the UK in December we have had almost one thousand new users signing up every day", reveals Telebid auction guru, Nigel Whiteoak. "Telebid is built upon fast countdowns and healthy competition between bidders (http://www.telebid.com/). Not only do winners save a packet on TVs, games consoles and laptops they also have a great time in doing so, pitting their wits against other bidders in order to bag a bargain."
So how does it work?
1. Bidding on TeleBid auctions starts at just 10p (or 7p for international auctions, where 10 euro cents are converted into pence)
2. A countdown tells the bidder when the auction will end, if no more bids get placed
3. With each bid placed, the price of the item increases by 10p (or 7p for international auctions)
4. Just like in a real auction (http://www.telebid.com/), where the auctioneer calls "Going, going, gone", TeleBid gives other bidders the chance to bid again if there's a bid in the dying seconds. If a bid is placed in the last 30 seconds, the counter gets reset back up to a maximum of 30 seconds. This "resetting" carries on until the countdown reaches zero -- i.e. no one has placed a bid in the last thirty seconds
5. Bids cost 50p each to place and are sold in packs of 20, 50, 100 or 200
6. Bids can also be placed over the phone, where the 50p charge just gets added to the phone bill
7. To help keep track of spending, each auction shows how much has been spent on bids, and how much overall the bidder would save if they won the auction.
8. The last bidder standing when the counter reaches zero wins the auction -- usually at an incredibly low price.
Since first hitting our shores in Mid-December, TeleBid has attracted over 35,000 users in the UK. Average savings (including both money spent on bids and final purchase price) on some of the most popular products have been:
? Nintendo Wii Console + Wii Sports: 54%
? Sony Playstation 3 Console 40GB HDD: 62%
? Nintendo DS Lite: 63%
? £500 Cash!: 89%
TeleBid can offer such outstanding savings by using the money from the bid payments to offset the low end prices, and scouring the market for the best bargains. Losing money on some auctions and making it up on others, TeleBid juggles the number and variety of auctions on the site to offer the best possible deals. Initially launched in Germany in 2005, TeleBid has created more than 50,000 winners in the past two years.
For those with an eye for a bargain, a cool hand and a thirst for thrills, visit TeleBid (http://www.telebid.com/) and get stuck in! You could be on to something?
